See one reason could be to stop the impulsive purcahses....When a person has a credit card then he/she actually purcahses some things which may be a want but not need thinking that he/she can always defer the payment.
Maybe it could have to do with the charges they keep on tacking onto the credit cards when one spends to much...I usually use money because it is a good money saving technique to see how much I have in my wallet for the week
I've tried to stop using my credit card now- each time that I do I end up buying things that I forget about until pay day when I'm paying it off. It's a much better idea to give yourself a cash budget as then you know what all the little bits add up to!
