Re: Student Loans
Student loans in the UK have a lower rate of interest then a standard loan but they are certainly not interest free (as I can vouch for when I get my statement). I thought they are were all organised through the student loans company but I could be wrong, and I know you can get further development loans from banks. The good thing about going for the loan through the student loans company is that you don't pay it back until you are earning a certain amount and until a certain time after you graduate, and then it leaves your pay packet with tax etc so you do not even notice you are paying it back.
One of the best things I did as a student was opt for a student bank account with an interest free overdraft, which many banks will carry on for a set amount of time after you graduate to give you time to pay it off. This provides some extra cash if you need it but prevents you getting into trouble with credit cards etc.
