CAIRO (AFP) - Arab League chief Amr Mussa called Monday for an emergency meeting of foreign ministers aimed at ending the factional fighting in the Palestinian territories, League sources said.
After talks with Saudi King Abdullah and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Mussa called for a meeting next Sunday of Arab foreign ministers aimed at resolving the crisis in the Palestinian territories, the sources said.
He received preliminary approval for the meeting from Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas, prime minister Ismail Haniya and Hamas's political chief Khaled Meshaal, one of the sources said.
