The best one I think is either Germany or The Netherlands.

Aren't there also non-state pension programs? Hopefully those aren't quiet as bad as the state pensions in the UK. At least there is still the option of just hoarding money in an old mattress . With humor put aside, one can also look in to ISAs untill the pension programs get better.

There are plenty on non-state programs available either through your employer or you can get a policy through a lot of companies. People should really start preparing for their retirement as early as they can afford to.
I am not surprised in the slightest that the UK is the worst - I think we all need to accept that we will be working later and later into life and had better sort out a private policy, since the state will not be providing for us.
