Post US consumer prices up 0.3% in August

The Labor Department has revealed US consumer prices rose by 0.3% in August – fuelled by a surge in petrol prices. Petrol prices rose by 3.9% in the month, while food prices rose by 0.2% in August, after falling slightly in July.
