Default Use with care

Be careful when using a credit card. They should mainly be used in emergencies or to help build credit. You should work hard to pay your balance in full each month to avoid finance charges.

Yes it is sad to see so many people who let credit card debt get out of hand. It is not worth it to buy things that you cannot afford if you are going to have problems paying your cards off.

Yes I agree, unfortunately I'm in the same boat and found out the hard way. However, its never to late to turn around and seek assistance. Theres always a way out.

credit cards can be great in an emergency but its important to think of them as an alternative rather than the first way to pay. The one exception to this rule would be necessary purchases over a £100 as they are cover some law that allows you to claim back losses against the credit card company. use the credit card to make the £100+ purchase, pay the credit card off with your own money and you get an extra layer of cover.

sorry if thats not too clear hopefully someone else can explain with more certainty

that is true, its always good to have an emergency fund of lets say $5,000 stashed in a savings account. If you must go over, use credit, but credit should always be a last resort, because its not your money.

We actually don't have credit cards because of each of us getting over our heads years ago. It makes for a more stressful living but at least we know if we can't pay for it (except emergencies) then we probably don't need it.
