Default What about web marketing?

Another kind of business which also involves investing is web marketing or internet business by having a website or thru some other ways.

Anybody here who's into management of websites or any other internet business and how much have you invested and earned?

I run a company that started off selling SEO services, but now I'm about to really widen my remit, not least in actual management of websites, and also installing/admin/management of forums.

The big key to earning online is to spread your risk via different income streams. For example, my AdSense revenue is now just over a third of what it was over a year ago. Individual online revenue streams cannot be relied on in themselves for the long term.

2c, hope that helps.

I have learned that forum admins really spend to drive traffic to their forums
, e.g., advertising their forums, etc. Is it really worth the expenses incurred? I believe that this may be the case as most probably the adsense/ads in the forum outweighs the forum expenses.

To be honest, I'm not convinced that a forum is going to be a great way to generate money. If income is a concern, I'd set myself up as an industry commentator in a particularly lucrative market - anything technology based - then take a fee for product recommendations.

As with all things net, at present it takes a long time to develop a reputation to trust, and that's not simply in terms of human users, but also the search engines whom can be a great way to deliver traffic.

Oh, I see. Perhaps that is the reason why most businesses settle for the forums. I guess, being known as posters in forums can also be a way to develop a reputation to trust and from then on, move to the next level, of another business with a better potential for earning.
