What assets do you possess?
We all wan't to be financially free, and we can only become the above by having a huge lottery win, or building up on a foundation of assets, the later, being the most realistic option!
Stocks, Forex, Bonds, ISAs, Current Accounts, Investment Funds, Property, Business
What assets do you own, and what assets are you striving to own?
I currently own nothing i can class as an asset, which is why i'm here, surfing the net, looking to start building an asset empire - impressive, ey!

Re: What assets do you possess?
I just opened up a stocks ISA a couple of weeks ago, and spread it around mainly UK banks - and Barratts.
2 days too early. If I'd have waited a little longer, the ISA would be stronger.
However, I always set it up with the aim of saving for 5 years, so any immediate downturn doesn't trouble me - I'm fully expecting an upturn over time, and a stronger one than that.
I'm also about to invest some company money on the stock market, and am again looking to the UK banking sector on the grounds that most of it is trading at historical lows.
However, I'm going to wait until I see a potential uptrend in evidence, as at present the banking stocks are still getting tanked.

Re: What assets do you possess?
Hi Brian,
Sounds great.
The problem many people face is they look for a short term fix, or no fix at all, but continue to work hard for 30 years, still looking for a short term fix or nothing at all.
I'm trying to look into a few things now, rather than in 10 years!
The problem i face is the fact that i race motocross, and it costs near enough £100 every time i role the bike out the shed!
I was checking stocks myself, and it looks like the market is in a massive struggle, but deciding the right time to get in could be crucial!
A few figures for you to mull over!
BT is the lowest it’s been since start of 2006.
Coca Cola is lowest since 2004.
Tata Motors is at it’s lowest since 2004
Rightmove lowest since 2005, which would be pretty much inline with your investments
Dominoes pizza is lowest since it was on the market in 2004 (US)
Lloyds TSB Group plc (ADR)

Re: What assets do you possess?
My investment strategy is to consider share price across 2003-2004 as normal, 2005 as slightly happy, 2006 as very optimistic, and 2007 as unbalanced optimism.
So I'm looking at prices before 2006, which is why many banks currently look quite attractive to me - once they overcome their downtrend.
Looking at the above, BT price is still comparable to 2003-2004 - so in my book, it's normal price, rather than a bargain:
BT.A - BT Group plc - Google Finance
That's just my 2c, though.
