In addition, where are you come from?

Bear in mind that information on investing, even being on the Internet, is different if you are located in the United States, the UK, or elsewhere.

As Brian said, a little bit of clarification migth be useful to help.

In general, I find that Google is the best place to start. Type in specifically what you're looking for and go to about page 5. Then you'll find real info as opposed to paid sites

Hmm. I'd like the best information on the best type of investing. I'm not really sure what that would be because I suppose you need a good general knowledge of investing before you can decide what the best type of investing would be. I know so very little it is pitiful.

So, maybe I need to know what you all consider to be the best way to invest first, and then I want to know where to go to get the best information on that method.

You guys are great, by the way, for putting up with me!

I was just given this website by my nephew which is pretty extensive. It has a huge list of all of the investment guru newsletters...for all of those who are in the US and Canada, this is a good place to start.

I think you have to almost be a wordsmith and be very careful to listen to what people are saying. Sometimes these analysts throw you a bone and expect you to jump...only to find out that there is a large fee for their advice. What bothers me too is when someone isn’t upfront with their fee..and you have to sign in first..they get all of your information. Not good...so if they are not upfront with money and you feel like there is a financial tagline coming, don’t fill anything out.

If you are looking to just learn about investing in general, try
Investopedia.com - Your Source For Investing Education . I am surprised that no one has mentioned it here.

Regards

FX..I see also that Winners and losers are listed here on this site. That’s great. I can’t stand people who give tips and then expect a zillion $ to pay for it...when it is already up on the internet..you just have to do some searching.

I have another question for you FX..what do you think about the strategy of buying on the news? This guy was offering free conference calls..and he suggested that buying on the news has made him more money than before..BUT..he was charging $150 to be part of the group. My question is, why do I have to pay this dude ANYTHING?

Let me be honest about this News trading phenomena and my 2 cents worth on this.
Traders come in different shades and it all depends on which colour suits you best.
There are scalpers ( in and out of positions within seconds to minutes), Daytraders ( can be few minutes to hours), swing traders ( upto 2-4days) and long term investors ( who hold on for few days to months).

News trading does have merit but only in the right hands. I would like to say that less than 1% of the people can really trade news as it is dependent on lot of factors.
Consider this as jumping into shark infested waters with a bleeding wound.

You need to have the best news provider which costs a lot, then you need a very reliable broker who allows you to position ahead of the news and lastly news spikes are like nothing everything you have ever seen. You can easily obliterate your account in one or a series of trades.

You live by the sword and you die by the sword type of trading is not for the fainthearted. If you are the "blood, guts and glory" kinda person, go for it.

Just dont tell me I didnt warn you.
Fortunately there are some very simple and easy ways to learn trading and its all free. All it takes time and discipline.

But my advise, RUN and RUN as fast as you can in the other direction.
There is no fast and easy money. I am sure he wont take any responsibility if you lose money on his calls.

Just some more nuggets for those who want to learn more from the net :
Some are free and some are pay sites
ClearStation : Welcome to ClearStation! (free community of traders, very good)
UndergroundTrader.com (paysite, scalping traders)
The Pristine Day Trader - Day Trading ( free and Paysite, expensive but these guys are good, esp Fred velez)

The above are not endorsements for any of the products and I am not affiliated to any of them.

I second investopedia.com as well. In addition to a wealth of information, it also has a stock simulator where you can try different investment strategies with no risk.
