Will China survive this worldwide recession and still maintain itself as the leading economy, are you hopeful about this?

Well, no one is predicting recession for China or India right now.

Not sure... initially the analysts in the West were hoping for emerging markets like China to bail out the West, but it doesn't look like it now..

I guess yes. China is the largest country in terms of population. Size of an economy primarily depends on a country's population.

I think i heard in some CNN analysis couple of days ago that the US economy is 4 times bigger than that of China. I cant authenticate this though, so dont quote me but i think i heard it right.

It very well may be the only sure thing in the world today. The Economy in China is the way it is because its people work for pittance, sell for cheap all over the world and the companies and government do what they can to keep it all.

China was built on more solid foundations than say the US or UK - they don't have all the issues of sub prime debt to start with

Well no one can predict it, but it might possible, since they are grooming fast.

Indian Economy is also grooming up, but I think It won't be biggest even upto 2020.

If anything it will speed up China's growth (compared to the rest of the world). I think it's pretty innevitable that China will eventually be the world's biggest economy. It's just a matter of when.

its a matter of when not if because of the imports and exports they do looking at it is actully quite crazy figures and money involve.

When Chinas economy grows further and further, they will eventually become more of a consumer nation. I'm guessing it will start to then become more expensive to manufacture over there and the economy in the world will start to balance itself out. More businesses might return to the UK, which will be good for us also.

Well it has the potential, I reckon in a few years time it will be.

It could be that as predicted the whole economic downturn will see a shift in the world's wealth.
