In my younger days it was Disco biscuits! Nothing wrong now with a generous helping of bourbons on a Sunday afternoon.

When I was young, you used to be able to get a coconut biscuit, it wasn't crunchy it was soft and yummy! Can't remember what they were called but it was lovely!

Im from SA so prob wont recognize any of my biscuit likes but i love Chocits, Romany creams, Bakers Choice Assorted and Bakers Shortbread and just to be random as i always am here is a recipe for shortbread

Recipe for Shortbread

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Baking Time: 10 – 12 minutes
Makes ± 80
250 g butter or margarine
190 ml (3/4 cup) sugar
5 ml (1 tsp) vanilla essence
1 can (385 g) Nestlé Condensed Milk
10 ml (2 tsp) baking powder
1 litre (4 cups) flour

Preheat oven to 180° C. Cream butter and sugar very well. Add vanilla and beat in the Nestlé Condensed Milk. Add baking powder and sifted flour gradually. If the dough is very stiff, do not add all the flour. Roll into balls the size of a walnut, place on a baking tray and flatten with a fork. Top with glacé cherries or nuts.

Bake for 10 –12 minutes until light golden.

Variations:

Choc-chip biscuits – add 150 g chopped Nestlé EasyMelt chocolate to the basic dough mixture.

Add 100 g chopped cherries and 50 g chopped nuts to the basic dough for Chunky Cherry Cookies.

you can also use castor sugar as well. I think the recipe i have uses that instead of normal sugar. adn wots also nice is if you melt chocolate, you dip ends of the shortcake into it, or drip it over the top.
